Antispasmodics

Gastroesophageal reflux disease with or without delayed gastric emptying, gastric hypotonia. Postprandial fullness, nausea and vomiting, hiatal hernia, diabetic and postoperative gastroparesis. Prophylaxis of chemotherapy-induced emesis.

Therapeutic Indications Butylscopolamine Gastrointestinal, biliary, and genitourinary tract spasms; biliary dyskinesia. IM, IV, or SC: acute spasms (gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and biliary) and adjuvant in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures where spasms may be problematic: gastroduodenal endoscopy, radiology. THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS: As an antispasmodic agent in the management of visceral algospasmodic conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, gastric and duodenal ulcers, enteritis, colitis, spastic constipation, and urinary and biliary spasms and dyskinesias.

BIOMESINA COMPUESTA (Butylhyoscine/Metamizole sodium) is used as an analgesic, antipyretic, and antispasmodic, recommended for the relief of renal and hepatic colic, fever, labor, and postoperative pain. Mechanism of Action Butylscopolamine + metamizole A combination of butylscopolamine, an antispasmodic in the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal, biliary, and genitourinary tracts, with no anticholinergic effects on the CNS, with metamizole, a non-acidic, non-narcotic pyrazolone analgesic with analgesic, antipyretic, and antispasmodic effects.
