Therapeutic Indications: Losartan Treatment of essential hypertension in adults and children 6 to 18 years of age. Treatment of kidney disease in adults with hypertension and type 2 diabetes with proteinuria ≥0.5 g/day as part of antihypertensive therapy. Treatment of chronic heart failure in adults when ACE inhibitor therapy is inappropriate due to incompatibility (especially cough) or contraindication. Patients with heart failure who have been stabilized with an ACE inhibitor should not be switched to losartan. Patients must have a left ventricular ejection fraction ≤40% and must be clinically stabilized and on an established treatment regimen for chronic heart failure. Hydrochlorothiazide is used alone and in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat edema (fluid retention; excess fluid retained in body tissues) caused by various medical problems, including heart, kidney, and liver disease, and to treat edema caused by the use of certain medications, including estrogen and corticosteroids. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a class of medications called diuretics ("water pills"). It works by causing the kidneys to remove unneeded water and salt from the body through urine.

It lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels so the heart doesn't have to pump as hard. It controls chest pain by increasing blood supply to the heart.

It is a diuretic, indicated to reduce edema caused by heart, kidney, or liver disease, pulmonary edema, or as a treatment for systemic hypertension. Monitor serum sodium, potassium, and creatinine levels during treatment, especially in patients at high risk of developing electrolyte imbalance or in cases of significant additional fluid loss (e.g., due to vomiting, diarrhea, or profuse sweating). Diltiazem is used to treat high blood pressure and control angina (chest pain). Diltiazem belongs to a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so the heart doesn't have to pump as hard.

Enalapril. Used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure, and in combination with other medications to treat heart failure.

Exforge HCT is used to treat high blood pressure in adult patients whose blood pressure is already controlled while taking amlodipine, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide and who may benefit from taking a tablet containing all three substances.
